Required Qualifications:Bachelors degree and four years of full time progressively responsible experience in healthcare, including physician coding, compliance or government regulations experience. CPT coding certification. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proven management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities. PC experience with Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelors/Masters degree in a health related field. Knowledge of health care laws, rules and government regulations.
Description:  The Director of Compliance will: Demonstrate personal traits of a high level of motivation and team orientation.
Direct compliance staff to ensure that medical records are audited timely.
Direct activities for system wide audits, investigations and monitor compliance with standards and procedures required by federal and state laws.
Research and investigate compliance related matters.
Direct the preparation and dissemination of reports representative of internal reviews and analyses of departmental activities.
Work with compliance subcommittee to communicate compliance program activity.
Maintain an awareness of laws, rules and regulations governing physician billing.
Keep abreast of changes that affect physician billing.
Provide consultative leadership and support to providers, compliance staff and department coding and management staff.
Develop and oversee educational programs for physician and coding/auditing staff.
Periodically audit compliance reviews.

Special Notes:This is a full time position. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.
