The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine provides comprehensive services in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary diseases and sleep disorders. Our physicians, all of whom are board-certified in Critical Care Medicine, supervise the care of patients in Medical Intensive Care Unit and Respiratory Care Unit at Stony Brook University Hospital.

Our Outpatient services include:

General Pulmonary Clinic -diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care are provided for all major pulmonary diseases, including:

COPD
Asthma
Emphysema
Occupational Lung Diseases
Pulmonary Fibrosis

Lung Cancer Evaluation Center - a multispecialty program that:

provides multidisciplinary management plans for diagnosing, staging and treating intrathoracic malignancies
second opinions regarding diagnosis and treatment
state of the art diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy

Pulmonary Hypertension Center - a specialty clinic for the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary hypertension.

Sleep Disorders Center - Our AASM-accredited Sleep Lab offers complete consultative services by Board-certified Sleep specialists to diagnose and treat the following sleep-related disorders:

Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome
Narcolepsy
Periodic Leg Movements
Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia

The following tests are performed:

Nocturnal Polysomnography
Multiple Sleep Latency Testing
CPAP/BiPAP titration
